Just Because It's a Wednesday

Yes, today is a Wednesday. And no, it's not really my favorite day of the week. Not that I have a favorite day.

Well, Sundays are always good. When you actually have time to laze around at home, watch tv, and binge on food. Sundays just give me a feeling of home, and of comfort. It is that one day of the week which you get to plan all to yourself, with your loved ones. And until recently, I believed that everything important happened on Sundays. As my quote goes, "Always on a Sunday."

But really, do important things happen in just one day of the week, right when you expect them to? What about that time when you woke up with a smile on your face? Or that time when you received a pat on the back for a job well done? Or that lunch break where you shared a laughter with your friends? Or the light feeling that you got after taking a walk? The simple hug that you shared after a tiring day at work?

As I thought about it more and more, I realized that clearly life doesn't just happen when you expect it to. Life happens everyday, in the forms most unexpected to us. While we are waiting for something great to happen in a few days, something even greater occurs in our lives from day to day. Being the romantic beings that we are, we've focused too much on the life-changing, that we failed to see the little things that are life-sustaining. These little things are what makes our lives, our own.. and it is not yet too late for us to notice.

If you think about it, you don't really need a Sunday to feel home and comfort. You don't need a whole day to plan something for yourself and for your loved ones. There are so much to look forward to every time you wake up - the laughter, the smiles, the hugs, the faint smell of nature, the sound of people chatting, and the list goes on and on and on. You just need to see that these things are around you, everyday. You don't need to wait for a certain day to plan. Life happens for no reason, life happens everyday. It happens, just because it's a Wednesday.
